Title: Travel Case For Longer Bows
Post by: Porkchop1 on February 07, 2019, 01:37:50 PM
Where can I find a DIY for building a hard travel case for my longbow and for my 62" recurve?

4" schedule 40 PVC pipe with one fixed end cap and a screw on cap for the other end. This is what I used to go to Colorado both times. I mailed my bows and arrows out 2 weeks ahead of time but the PVC pipe could go on an airplane too.

Did you pad the tube and caps? If so how did you do it?  Rubber insulation sheets?

Get the pool noodles from the dollar store for inside the pipe.

I'll be following this thread since I've been looking for something like that as well. Has anyone been able to make a case for a longbow that has a quiver on it? I would make a pvc case for my longbow but with my selway on I don't think it would fit.

I used foam in the top and bottom and bubble wrap around the bows.

Trenton - I did one for my longbow w selway on it when I hunted CO and had to have bow in case on 4 wheeler.  4" PVC and then cut out a gap just big enough for the selway to fit and cut this about 3/4 of the way down the PVC.  So when you put it in the bow is inside the PVC and the quiver is on the outside.  I had a fixed cap for the front and a twist on cap for the back but didn't bother to put the back cap on as once it's in there it wasent coming out.  Hope this makes sense.
