First scout of the year for turkeys.....about 15 degrees, and I was a little late getting out. Birds were already on the ground when I got there. So I missed a lot of the gobbling. But with a little glassing, I located these birds and the sneak was on! Five or six jakes, a few hens, and this big fella......

Won't have much time at all to scout and hunt this year with my work schedule....I'll pray for at least a few Sundays in May.....
The afternoon was all about Cade. The plan was for "us" to go shooting. But when I realized I'd forgotten my shooting glove, Cade did all the shooting, and became the official photographer....a little taste of Cade and his wonderful personality.....

He shoots like his Dad!!!!!
Critters better look out in a few years..... :archer:
Boy does that remind me of growing up on the orchard. My memories of traditional archery is the few times my Dad would pick up his Herter's recurve and shoot very accurately whilst I would fling some arrows every where but the target. But work, the orchard, work and more work prevented him from pursuing it. My son now uses the old recurve and Dad, on occassion will shoot with us and still hit what he is aiming at.
Enjoy these days.
Those trees should have some very pretty blossoms on them soon.
thats great stuff! really good to see a father and son enjoying the same passion for archery.
thanks for sharing Curt and good shooting Cade  :clapper:
Chuck, He'll be better than me in no time bud
Chris, I've grown up here in apple country...memories that will be with me forever!
