I just picked up some used tru angle sharpeners.
1 - 10 inch with two bastard files.
3 - 3 inch sharpeners course, fine and strop.
But I didn't get any instructions.
Do I pull the broadhead backwards or do I push the broadhead forward across the sharpeners?
Thanks,
JD

The general rule I was given by a metal smith was files from heel to tip, stones from tip to heel. It affects how the burr is created that makes the edge.

careful with those files, they take of quite a bit of metal awfully quick!!! I still have the two stone set but opted not to get the files after trying them out.
I've since gone to using a lansky for nothing else then it's portable (backpack hunts), easy, and consistent!

JD, I will make a copy of the instructions for the 3 inch stones and put them in your package. Won't go out till wens.

There are arrows on the side of the files and stones/strop showing direction you need to go with heads. Have used them for years and they work great. With the files use progressively lighter pressure every ten strokes or so. I usually go 4 strikes per side and keep alternating until sharp. Then touch on fine sharpener and when scary sharp strop lightly. Doees take some metal but the edge is scapel sharp if done right- no burrs.

When you strop, pull the broadhead toward you. As noted, with the file go from the heel to tip,
I use the Tru-Angle system to sharpen fixed 2 & 3 blade broadheads, and it's easy to get hair shaving edges. I've yet to find anything that sharpens a Snuffer faster or with better results...
