Post by: Roy from Pa on March 31, 2008, 06:21:00 AM
Anyone know of a good source for snake skins for backing a bow? Rattle snake or Copperhead will work. Thanks, Roy

Try Mike Yancy at Pine Hollow Longbows. He's a sponsor.

Bob Morrison does the best skins around. IMHO.

leatherneck,

He's asking where to buy skins to put on his bow, not where to buy a bow with skins.

Glad you like Bob's work though.  LOL

You can get some western diamondback skins on the big auction site.Copperheads do pop up every now and then but if you can get some large enough be prepared to pay a lot for them,I've seen them run from $100 to $160 a pair for copperheads and thats just for the skins.Another option is to get limbsations from Onestringer.com a sponsor here, they come in many different skins. They are easy yo install and you can remove them later without harm to the bows finish and they cost around $25.
