I have acquired a EB Holcomb 57 Kodiak Recurve. Can anyone tell me about this Bow? I can't seem to find anything on the internet, and was curious. Thanks, Duane
Ed made few bows and didn't care to do any more than he wanted to. Most were his versions of '59 and '57 Kodiaks; although there were others too. I had a '57 copy that was a very nice bow but too strong for me so I passed it on eventually.
As you noticed, Ed's workmanship is second to none, I hear he has retired from bow making.
I also had one of his '57s but I can't really add anything to what Bjorn has said other than I wish I'd kept it. Very well crafted bow.
Ed is still making bows but not as many as he used to and he isn't generally taking orders. His project right now is to make copies of the old Wing P2's. I have seen some he had at Denton and they are beautiful. He builds a beautiful bow. I wish I had one of his 59 copies.
Thanks for the info. I must say this is a sweet shooting Bow, and finely crafted. Duane
Ed makes a great bow I've been to his shop..He does fantastic work in a pretty small operation...He also built several copy's of some of Harry Drakes bows....Brian V.shoot a black bear in Que'bec last year with one of Ed's Wing P-2 reproductions...Ed does make some nice looking bows....He told Tom and I he was caught up in makeing some bows for his grandson last spring.....bowdoc

"tell him Tom " Lefty" Phillips sent you."
Sounds like something you would have heard at a Speakeasy, in Chicago during the 1920's 8^).
Ed's bows are beautiful.
