Title: Old Simmons Interseptors?
Post by: Axe Thrower on February 10, 2007, 11:23:00 PM
Question for you Simmons shooters.  I have some Interseptors that I have been shooting since the late 90s.  They are the screw in type.  Do you think that I am having a hard time sharpening them because of age?  How often do you buy knew ones?

The age probably has nothing to do with it. Simmons need to be sharpened with a hollow ground edge. They have a sharpener on their website that works like a charm and is fairly easy to use.

Oh by the way if you are having too much trouble and don't want them anymore you could send them to me. LOL

Thanks for the good word.  They have performed to good for me to give them up or away! My first deer was shot with an Interseptor.  In fact, all the deer that I have killed have been with either and Interseptor or a Tigershark.  When you first get the Interseptors, they are pretty sharp. I just got to work on keeping them sharp.  I have noticed that I seem to have an easier time sharpening my Tigersharks than my Interseptors.  I think I will go work on them now.

I second what C2 said` The Simmons sharpening system will do the job and is worth the investment.
