Well... My wife brought me a package to the ambulance station on a long 72hr shift. Absolutely gorgeous (and the bow is a stunner as well). I knew it was going to be beautiful but not ever having held one, I was VERY nervous about how it would feel and shoot. Especially the size of the grip. I tend to like a smaller, narrower throat. Alan Pope assured me I would love it and he was dead right. My first six shots were dead on. My wife even said I acted surprised. It shot great and will be even better after I put some Navajo string silencers and a quiver on it.

Congratulations, that's a stunning bow. I'm glad it shoots as well as it looks. 👍👍
Stunning!! Congrats!!!
Very slick looking bow! have been wanting to try one. Congrats!
It's a beauty for sure congrats
Wow, what a beauty!
Thanks everybody. I really do love it. I have noticed that I am hitting my hand with a fletchings every few shots or so. Maybe that's why I am shooting so we'll with it already. As far as center cut, not quite sure. I know I don't care for bows with a narrower shelf for the reason that my arrow always blows off while hanging on my treestand hook. This has a nice wide shelf.
Found this on their website. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181126/bb130f4eeb4611631dda7f6269e169ee.jpg)

Thats one of the best looking bows I've seen.
With my Centaurs I normally shoot cock feather in due to the occasional quill to the webbing between my thumb and pointer finger, ouch!
Everything about that bow is amazing.

I advised a good buddy of mine to buy the 3 piece Colombian Blacktail it came out much more of we expected. I think every Blacktail is on the top of shelf of custom bow making
Yowzahhhhh!!!! :saywhat:
That bow is beautiful!
I could be wrong, but I believe the Columbian T/D longbow is cut 1/8" past center.
Beautiful bow, I have never seen a blacktail I didn't like. Have fun with it.
Almost too pretty to take outside!! Congrats sir!
Sweet! I had to cancel my LB order last February because I had to have surgery and simply couldn't afford it. I'm going to put in another order early next year. I love my Sitka Recurve
That thing is nice. I'd like to try one someday. Are those Grizzlystik arrows?
Tedd
Thanks everybody. While it is beautiful, it will get hunted hard. The arrows are Easton FMJ.
Now the only other problem is that my wife found the invoice. :readit: :knothead:
That is a beauty for sure. Never shot a Blacktail bow but they look awesome. Merry Christmas and thanks for sharing. :clapper:

😂🙄
GOOD HEAVENS that's a fine looking bow! I've been waffling on ordering the td longbow and thought I had my woods chosen. Your pics have just settled it's time to place my order.
Norm and Alan donated a bow at the PBS gathering this past spring. After raising my hand enough times during the auction at Saturday's banquet I became the proud owner of a Sitka T2 that is just as stunning as your bow. Blacktail are truly the top of the line in both looks and shooting. I've owned a lot of different bows in my life but this one is easily my favorite.
The funny thing is that I went to the PBS gathering with the thought of buying or ordering a Columbian longbow. I still have room for that one on my rack!

That's awesome. You won't be disappointed. The options sneak up on you quick. I got a little (ok, a whole lot) out of my price range but I just couldn't help it.

Whip, which one did you buy. Was it the iced Latte/ sunset cocobolo or the Macasser Ebony one. I think I saw pictures of those two. All of them are beautiful. I had a nightmare of a time trying to pick out the woods
That's fantastic!

I know all about that, I have 2 td recurves. Was the spalted maple a T2 option?

It was. It really snuck up on me quick. It was the dang limb bolts that really ate me up
Yeah the limb bolts are brutal. I like the silver plated ones because of the way they'll patina. Seems like a shame to put the plain ones on such a gorgeous bow though, doesn't it?
Just got an email from Julie while on vacation in July... mine's going to build!
How are you liking yours Medic77?
Very nice bow. Now with seasons approaching it's time to slap some paint on that bad boy.

I'm with Charlie you could always grind the paint off if you were displeased :biglaugh:
""Very nice bow. Now with seasons approaching it's time to slap some paint on that bad boy.""
PAINT?!!!!
Good Lord NO!
They put nice satin finish on them along with with wood veneers that naturally make them camo ready for the woods.
Enter my Sitka, April this year. Not a T2 but they still select awesome woods.
Gorgeous! Looks similar to my Elite VL, but my cocobolo is darker.
What a beauty!!your wife is a keeper.
Ya the paint would keep the glare down. Awesome looking bows!
Very nice. Been looking there bows for years.
Rich K.
Beautiful bow congrats! I don't think I would take that in the woods lol
That bow is beautiful. Does this bowyer make ASL's as well?
Back in the day most bows were painted before going into the woods. Charlie knows for sure. Of course, I never saw a bow that looked like that, back in the day. That is a beauty. Enjoy. :goldtooth:
