A good draw knife, a couple rasps, scraper a sharp hatchet is a start. Basically I used the hatchet, knife then rasp. Oh I forgot the jigsaw to get the stave down to workable size.

A draw knife. you can get a good, old one from a junk shop, flea market or garage sale for about $20. A farriers rasp. You can get one free from a farrier or a new one for about $20. A good scraper. You can make one from an old circular saw blade or industrial bandsaw blade or buy a set of cabinet scrapers from Lowe's or Home Depot.
Good luck and keep us posted with your progress.

Thanks fellas! My stave actually came from a local bow builder, so it’s ready to be worked! I ordered clay Hayes book and have already learned a ton of info from it! I’ll keep everyone updated.

Here are my basic bow making tools, I use power tools now but could make a bow easily with what is in the picture.
Drawknife, course rasp, file, chansaw file, and scrapers.
