Title: Barreling or Tapering Shafts
Post by: PastorSteveHill on March 28, 2008, 08:28:00 PM
When Barreling or tapering wood shafts, does the spine weight hold true?  What I mean is, if I need 62 lbs. shaft at 29' draw, if I get a barreled shaft, will I still need the same spine?  Thanks.

I did some barrell tapering when I made arrows for about 10 years. In almost every instance, regardless of the wood type I used, I would loose about 10# of spine. The fellow who supplied me with shafts found the same to be true.
