I got a little side project going I'm in the middle of building some cabinets & shelving to finish off the dreaded Honey Dew list so my only bow work for the next month is hand tools in the middle of the night , I call this the therapy bow some thing about working with hand tools in the middle of the night is relaxing , but cut some nice osage a few years back and ended up with a supper clean 44 '' stave out of the mix ,I got this one chased down nice rings and one minor pin on the edge that will disappear when worked down , going to put a slight flip in the tips , I have some nice moose & elk sinew that will darn near cover half a limb at a pass it will make a nice native quiver bow if I can pull it off these short little native bows a harder to nail down then they look, I'm going for 45lb @22'' the stave has taking some nice natural reflex to I'm going to reverse string in about 4 '' reflex before sinew !

Nice..
If ya don't feel like working night shift on bows, just send that stave to me:)
I see two awesome belly lams in it...

How many do you think you could get out of this ugly stave ? :bigsmyl:
-
At least one bow maybe 1.5 or 2 depending on how wide it is..
Ya wanna sell it?

That one is all ready ruffed into another bow but if I cut some more this winter I usually do I will let you know my other greedy friends all ready cleared me out last year :goldtooth:

Hey Pat I know you made a few of these shortys Im trying to decide which way to tiller one this short Brad Smith told me he has done them both ways the last one I did was a 62'' and I left the center a little stiff for more of a eliptical tiller I was thinking with this one being this short maybe a full arc and maybe a little more sinew in the center ? I dont think with those short limbs would get much schock full arc ? Its going to be a short version of the bow bellow ? Yep big rings George

I like that ugly stave, more than the fat one. Nice job chasing the ring on that snaky sucker!

Nice ratio early late wood the more hedge I cut and split the more selective I get ,a lot of work , found a osage forest last year and have permision to cut all I want it is setting in a river bed bottom and no good way to get a truck in to it but there are some nice strait bark trees there ! I have some others targeted for osage riser blanks !
