Title: Too hot to bow hunt!!

Well it’s entirely too hot to get out and hunt so I thought I might as well build a bow! I received some supplies from KennyM this week and I already had some myrtle veneers and riser block. Hopefully get the bow glued up by tomorrow! I’ve always loved the look of Myrtle!

Yes it will be Kenny. I saw these veneers for sale on Facebook back in June and had to snatch them up.

Every time I think I have figured out my favorite wood someone pops one up I haven't see yet and I have a new favorite.

Those look great! 
And you are right about it being too hot.  It's too hot and there's knee high water and huge mosquitoes in my hunting area.  I love hunting but not that much.

Got the bow glued up the other day. Laid out the limbs and was getting ready to cut them out. I turned on my bandsaw and it swarmed on me. I shut it off and opened the bottom cover to see that my rubber tire on the bottom wheel had broke in half. So I have to put it off for a couple days till I get one in the mail. :banghead:

Yep, I was just thinking the same thing....  Dang it....

Guess I'm gonna have to find some myrtle.....   ;)

Seriously though, that bow is goning to look amazing!

I’m sure a lot of you guys already use something like this but for those that don’t this really helped with my riservoverlays. I made this jig to clamp my bow in while glueing on overlays. Keeps the overlays from sliding around and really made quick work of this.
