Title: Glue in/glue on adapters...which glue?
Post by: duck'n on March 26, 2008, 03:18:00 PM
I am about to set up some hunting arrows and will be using a 100 gr. brass glue in/glue on insert.  I will use hot melt on the glue on portion so I can tune the broadhead BUT this will require the glue in portion to be fixed and unaffected by the heat (unless I am missing something here).  Which glue is recommended for attaching the insert into the shaft itself?

I would consider GoatTuff for both.  Strong as all heck but heat reversible.  I would install the insert in the shaft first, then mount the bh after it sets (and that is pretty quick).

Think about an ASD so you have a square shaft end to begin with.  Costs a few bucks, but a good idea.
