Thinking about trying some bamboo arrows with stone points for deer season this year. Would be shooting them out of my PSE talon that is 54# at my draw length. Anyone have any experience and recommendations as to point size and total arrow weight?
What kind of cane will you be using. The native canes(river, switch and hill) all have a pretty good natural taper. These are naturally weight forward making them great for stone points which are generally lighter than commercial broadheads. One inch wide and 2 1/2" to 3" long triangle with or without a tang woulds work well.
My hill cane arrows generally weigh in at between 550 to 650grs. for a 30" arrow.
Most likely going to use river cane as I know a couple places near me that I can harvest it. Thanks for the help
