Well, words can't describe how happy I am with how my Prairie Predator turned out! Mike sure was great to work with and he did a fantastic job on this one for me. Osage riser/limb core, purple heart accents and green glass. This bow is just fun for me to look at! :goldtooth: I was up bright and early this morning and hit the woods not far from where I live. Did some shots to get a feel of her and I'm very impressed. I don't have a chrony but, I don't need one to tell you, it shoots faster than the GN Lil Creep I had. Maybe due to design? For those who have been following me, I can tell you, I won't be hitting the woods with any bow but this one now! It is extremely light also. I call her the "Goblin" :biglaugh:
Specs: 62", 40# @ 28". Arrows are Black Eagle, cut 29.5 bop w/125gr tip. Wt. 430gr total. GN adjustable quiver w/green hood to match.

Sharp looking rig there! Congrats on the new bow. I can believe the craftsmanship is top notch from Mike @Maddog (Son won the youth bow he made). I sure know I'm dropping spare change into a mason jar and when it's full I'm going to be talking with Mike for an order!
Enjoy shooting the new stick!
Very nice. I am thinking about one of his follower extreme longbows. His prices are VERY reasonable. So you're happy with the quality of the workmanship?

Absolutely! This is my third bow from Mike and I wouldn't hesitate to have many more. Mikes bows are meant to be hunted and not wall hangers.
I am happy for you. I felt the same way when I got my Prairie Predator from Mike. I am not even a longbow guy! Mine is 62" 45lb @ 27". I have to admit I still love my recurves and that is in no way a hit against the Prairie Predator! It is one heck of a fine bow. Congratulations to you Wannabe1. Fine looking bow.
Awesome bow!! I have two of Mike's bows, a Predator, and a Follower Extreme. Both awesome, and fast bows. Nice and quiet too. He is also great to deal with. I may have to get another one. Congrats!!!
That IS a fine looking rig!!!! Hope Mike put just enough luck into her as he made it to make your season a good one and a full freezer!
Congrats
THAT is one good looking bow! If it shoots half as good as it looks you have a tack driver!!! Enjoy!
Great looking bow!
She looks great and will only look better as that osage ages. What do you think of the osage limb cores so far.
TW...Do you believe that bow will be ready for Kentucky deer?
That is really sharp.
Congrats
Looks awesome! That mean you're selling the Bears? 😂

Osage and Purpleheart are my two favorite woods. I've had many bows with this combo so, hope that tells ya! :-)

By no means! I just won't be shooting them for a while as this will be the only bow shot 'til after my season ends. :bigsmyl:
Oh yeah are your Black Eagles 500 or 600 spine?
They are the 500 spine. Fly pretty darn good too!
Impressive I had a buddy that had one but it had the shelf cut on the wrong side. Sure did want to shoot that thing.

I'm pretty happy with the performance of this one. It will be go to bow for sometime I think! I have picked up a few recurves. I.E. the Bears, a Dalaa and a TT Titan riser but, longbows have always been my mainstays. I really hope to take my first deer with this one this season!
Great looking bow...osage is probably my favorite wood. Congrats brother!
Good lookin' stick, TW!!!!
Bisch
Thanks guys! It'll surely do its part if I can only do mine. :biglaugh:
Very nice! I love osage
I hit the range with the Goblin this morning and am pretty sure I've got her tuned in for the upcoming season. I shot a few with the AD Trad Lites at 25yds, and the rest of the morning with the Black Eagles. Unfortunately, my camera died after pics of the AD's so, I didn't get any of the Black Eagles, which will be the ones I hunt with. Needless to say, the bow performed very well and with 125gr up front, I am confident I can get it done if a shot presents itself.

Thanks Bisch! I just ordered up some 135gr Eskilites to put on the Black Eagles. I don't think the extra 10gr will make much difference in flight. Especially once I get through doing some sharpening on them.
What spine and arrow length are you shooting for light tips like that. Ive only ever used 250-300 grains out front so lighter setups are a bit foreign to me
Justin, my arrows are the Black Eagle Vintage 500 spine, cut 29.5" bop. My bow pulls 40# @ 28" which is pretty much what I'm pulling. On a good day, I get 28.5". :biglaugh: I get great flight with the 125gr field tips w/a total arrow weight of 427gr. I pretty much have always tuned my arrows to the bow by adjusting tip weight 'til I get great flight.
thanks for the props TW.

You bet Mike! I'm loving the bow everyday! I was at the range yesterday with my son and Shot the Predator for more than two hours between 20/30 yards. I think I can get it done if the opportunity arrives! :goldtooth:
I saw your groups, I think you can too. Pretty much positive actually
Well, I've got my area scouted. Seen some deer and elk so, I know they're there. Just hoping for the chance for the arrow to meet the deer! :biglaugh:
Great looking Prairie Predator you've got there.....love how Osage changes over time and then gets that nice caramel color....your groups are looking good....you'll be ready!

I too love the way the Osage ages! This bow will have a really nice look to it once it does. Thanks for the vote of confidence! I'm hoping with all hope! :bigsmyl:
It might take a while to age, it seemed like some fairly "new" wood. It still has the "electric pineapple" shade to it.

That's all fine with me Mike. Just means I'll have to spend a lot of time with it! :goldtooth:
