I hurt myself and thought I was done shooting trad. I sold my beloved bear recurve. Well just 4 yrs later I'm gtg and can shoot again. Now I want that kodiak mag back so bad. You ever done something similar. Btw if you know bowarkie, I will make him a hell of a deal

Have you messaged him here? It looks like he was active earlier

Oh yeah. I sold and gifted everything 8 years ago. Including some light bows I used to teach others to shoot that would be great as 'rehab' bows now. But, I had to drop bow weight enough that only one is really missed, a bow Mike Treadway made for me from a juniper log I cut in one of my hunting locations at 9,000' and humped down the mountain, and I would need to build up to it.
Hope you're fully recovered. I'm overbowed with my new bow, but shooting is improving. If anyone has 35-38#@28" (target weight is [email protected]") 64"+ that you're ready to move on, Black Forest Longbow, Wes Wallace Royal, Alan Boice, Abe Penner, Big Jim, Herb Meland, ... (so many great bowyers, so little time and budget!), please drop me a PM!

Just updating on the thread... It was too much bow for me and I sold it to a dear friend of mine on here, deadsilence... I’ve got them connected and we shall see what happens!
-
So looks like a reunion is in the makes. Bowarkie and deadsilence were totally understanding and worked out a fair deal. Thanks guys. Cant wait to shoot that bow again.

That's great..

That is awesome. It is great when good things happen.

I love this kind of story! When I got diagnosed with my illness, and thought I'd not ever be able to shoot again, I sold off every bit of my archery equipment. Now, 3yrs later, I am actually able to pull and shoot a lightweight bow again. I miss a lot of my old stuff! :banghead:
-
Gotta love it when a plan comes together, congrats!
-
That's exactly why I started reducing weight on my old bows...40-38#@28 from 60# and under. They shoot great once again! tippit

It's kind of a dilemma for me, too. I like to try other bows, but feel I need to sell one to buy one.
Over the years I have collected a few that I like and want to keep but I have to admit I would have liked to have kept a couple that I sold.

Well she still fits me. That's at 17 yards never took a deer with her never shot her this well either. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180728/5cf00afeec5fe594ee1c1aa12e5d7205.jpg)

Jeff, I’d sure like to hear your reduction process. I have bows that could be 4-10# lighter.

Glad to see it made its way back home brother!

I love a good ending sounds like the makings of a Trad romance novel

I know the feeling. Some years ago, I got into a little trouble financially and sold my lost Creek long bow. I need to give Chad Francis a holler, and have them make me another in. That might be the best boy ever owned, and it’s gone I sold on archery talk.com, and I went back and tried to find the thread so I could see who bought it and cannot find it. Dang it anyway.

Check your ratings from deals made in AT. Thats How i caught trail of my bow.

Probably that awesome, custom, precision made string that makes it shoot so well :biglaugh:
-
Well I certainly am a fan of it to be honest! Certainly made the bow stop imitating a .22 when it went off.

Probably the best ILF riser I ever shot was an original TT Titan. I sold it in a moment of weakness and regretted it every since. They are hard to come by now. Well, I found one some weeks back and today I put some Satori limbs on it. I'll never make the same mistake again! This one will stay 'til I can shoot no more.
