I have flown in Canada with my bows without any problems and drove into the States and back with no hassles. I don't think there should be any trouble but I have been wrong one other time years ago !!! LOL

It was several years ago when I went.  I shipped my bow ahead of time to camp.  My buddy brought his on the plane.  The customs officer (a lady) asked him if his recurve was a "semi-automatic".  Myself, my buddy, and the two male customs officers on either side of her about fell over...really glad they laughed too, otherwise we might still be in jail in Canada!  She was not amused...but we got through, no hassle.

Flying out of Boston, as we checked our bags/cases the airline check in person would ask if our bows were "unloaded", when we said it was archery gear she would insist that we take it to TSA to be checked out.  The TSA officer would laugh and peek inside and say "have a nice flight".

No problems here either with a three piece recurve and arrows.  Packed within my luggage and no questions or hassle..

I have used a soft Cabelas rolling duffle bag, or a BPS duffle bag and packed my TD  recurve bow  surrounded by clothes and gear, with arrows in a Easton tube. I have flown 6 times to Colorado and back with this setup with NO issues. The bag weighs 49# with all my hunting and camping gear. My compound buddies use the SKB case.

A trad archer i met in Quetico that was from the Twins Cities, tied his longbows into his canoe.  The canoe was tied to a float plane based out of Ely, Mn.   He wanted to use his wood/canvas canoe on the moose hunt.
