What are you looking forward to seeing at PBS? There will be multiple "firsts" to get excited about. There will be at least two new books hot off the press. Cliff Huntington's book on the Thompson Brothers. Bryce Lambley's book "My Neck of the Woods". We will unveil the condensed 50 minute version of "Primal Dreams" made specially for classroom, church group, library and hunter-education use. We will also unveil the finest bowhunters flashlight ever made.
I want to hear Joey Buchanan try to call in a turkey in downtown Pittsburgh. I want to see John Rook judge the Photo Contest. But most of all, a chance to see old friends again, meet new ones and drool over dozens of the finest handcrafted hunting bows and accessories ever displayed for sale or bid. Its going to FUN!
Yes it is going to be FUN! I'm looking forward to the "firsts" of some new members and meeting more new friends. The first BBQ night should be good also. I hope to get some books and video. If I could convince you to hold one of Mr. Lambley's books for me I would really appreciate it - but if they must be first come first served I'll see you Thursday evening.
I'm looking forward to seeing all those who I haven't seen since the last time I saw them at a banquet. I'm looking forward to buying Kevin his choice of beverage for all his hard work. AND I am looking forward to co-seminaring with Monty Browning!
We get fed for 3 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looking forward to seeing folks I have only met thru e-mail and phone conversations, get to finally put a face to them and shake their hand. And I am looking forward to the auction. Seeing guys like Forester that i hav'nt seen in a while.
I wanna see who Hogdancer asks to dance.....
I'm telling Barry you said that !
I'm just looking forward to the entire event. This will be my first time in attendance.
Todd
Good for you Todd,if you see me come up and say hi.
I'm like Todd - a newbie at this event, so the whole weekend will be a first for me too. They say firsts are always memorable! Can't wait to find out if that old saying comes true...
I'm most looking forward to seeing Jack Smith. He's PBS's Sect./Treas. and editor of the magazine for the last hundred years. He's the heart of PBS and one of my all time favorite people. I'm sure he'll be somewhat embarrassed with the attention. A lot of people don't know we almost lost him just two monthes ago from head trauma when he fell from a ladder while moving a treestand. It shows us it can happen to anybody. Jack quietly sits in the background and gives and gives to PBS and bowhunters in general. Most folks have no idea. I'm looking forward to giving him a big, ol' bear hug. bw
I'm busy reading Bryce Lambley's book for a review in the PBS magazine. Thumbs up so far so grab a copy at Gene's booth. You won't be disappointed. I still don't know about this putting french fries on top of your hamburger stuff. Just doesn't seem right. Must be something started by Steeler fans.
I'm going to miss all my bowhunting family this gathering, its just not in the cards for Marilyn and I this year. We will be thinking about all of you. Travel safe and have fun.
Bob
Easy on the bear hug for Jack UNcle Barry, he's still in the back brace for another month. Talked to him today, he's in good spirits with the banquet coming up.
Looking forward to seeing everyone, the auctions and drawings, and of course all the seminars. By the time the weekend is over I will hardly be able to talk. Also looking forward to the Thursday evening BBQ.
I have to agree on Jack Smith. The heartbeat of the organization that few appreciate. For those that are going, introduce yourself to Jack if you don't know him, and tell him thanks. And say "Hi" to Brenda also.
I'm packing and getting ready to leave....see you there!
Goose
Looking forward to my first PBS event. I'll be there with Roman Hershberger of Hill Country Bows.
Looking forward to my first pbs and meeting everyone I've talked to on here. Looking forward to checking out all those great donations that will be up for grabs.
Looking forward to the festivities and hoping that Biggie got the word that trousers are mandatory at this event. :scared:
I've always enjoyed a good "Unveiling". Hope to enjoy this one.
Looks like the old wallet is going to take a good pounding again. From what I've seen so far this is looking to be another banner year of the finest donations we could ever hope to lay eyes on.
A word of caution to waiters at the ladies luncheon if you don't want to lose your seat on the school board stay away from my wife. She is coming to have a gooooooood time!!!!!!
I'm excited about this banquet weekend, too. Not my first or my last, but it's gonna be great. Leaving here at 5AM for the Thursday eve BBQ. Gene, hold me a copy of Bryce's book, please.
I won't be able to make it either, but I'll live vicariously through your stories....so keep telling em for me! Have fun all.
Aromakr, it's been awhile; I was looking forward to seeing you and Marilyn. Hope everything is well and we'll see you down the road.......Shick
After years of development, my business partner Bill Baughman (PABones here on Tradgang) and I are going to unveil our revolutionary new product that will forever change turkey hunting - HEH (Hen in Heat) turkey scent at only $19.99 for a bottle personally collected and autographed by Bill and me.
Oh boy Jeff, sign me up for a bottle of that! ;) The inginuity and creativity of people on this site never ceases to amaze me! :biglaugh:
Gene and John, thanks for the plugs. It breaks my heart that I've never been able to attend a PBS Banquet due to being a head track coach and us always having a meet this weekend. I'm happy to announce that this is my final year in that post (I didn't quit for PBS, I quit to spend more time with my own young daughters), and I hope to be able to attend some PBS gatherings in the future!
In any case, Gene will be bringing a box of "My Neck of the Woods" down to the PBS Banquet (thanks for offering, Gene), and I also donated two copies to the PBS. I would love to be there to meet all of you including anyone interested in the book. That not being possible, if anyone is interested, you can e-mail or PM me, and there is more information available at this site:

It's definitely a traditional-oriented read, but just as TBM is attractive to other hunters I believe this will be also be enjoyed by modern bowhunters, gunhunters, and non-hunting spouses.
Sorry Jeff...but you are about 25 years too late to be the first to sell turkey scent. Good ole Tink had advertisements a long time ago for Tinks* turkey scent. Even had two guys from Kentucky in the advertisement swearing their success was due to this magic elixer.
I don't know John, I think Jeff has his timing just right. Turkeys couldn't smell 20 years ago but things have changed......
I almost forgot an "unveiling" that I'm looking forward to.....JohnV lifting the sandwich roll to unveil his fries!
Our HEH* scent is more special than Tink's was because it even works on those wary 21st century gobblers that have gone nocturnal.........
Aromakr:Bob going to miss not seing you. Always enjoy your company. Rod Bear
My first Banquet...can't wait for the show to begin!
Larry and his beautiful wife Carol will be there. I will be there too. As usual, my responsibility will be to serve as the looks of the outfit while Larry serves as the brains. Being the looks of the outfit means I have to fight off the numerous archery groupies that infest thest bi-annual PBS gaterings. It's a tough job but somebody has to do it!
I'm looking forward to seeing many old friends there this year.
Wary Buck - I'd really like to get your book. I'm only 25 miles away from you, let me know where I can get it.
Thanks - Doug
See you there John....I mean Brad Pitt! :>)
Looking forward to it Mike!
