I just logged on so I don't know how long my friend John's pic has been up. Congratulations John on a very nice buck. Hope you enjoy your period in the limelight. :notworthy:
Nice Buck John
What bow are you using??
I have the pleasure of shooting with John at our local archery shop.He is quite an accomplished shooter and all around good guy. What amazes me is his ability to shoot right and left handed equally well. Very nice deer John. Congrats!
 How about the story?
You know it, we need the story!!!!!! Congrats John!

Congrats John , nice buck  :clapper:
Well what do ya know....
I got this buck the first week of November 2005 in NE MO around Kirksville. It was one of those deals where everything came together just right. He came in and acted just like I hoped he would.

I was in the perfect funnel and he came around a corner from along the edge of an open field into a patch of pines. I watched him paw a scrape and then here he came. He stopped when he hit my foot trail and looked upwind the way I had walked in. I was five yards downwind from him and about 14 ft up. I shot him a little more forward than I wanted but about 6 or 8 inches of arrow busted thru his shoulder. There was alot of broken arrow lying at the sight of the hit. Man it happened so fast.

He took off and I lost sight of him within a few bounds. Then the noise stopped and I was straining to hear. I thought I heard him fall but I wasn't sure. I gave him about a half hour and found blood right away. He went about 40 or 50 yards. The broadhead caught the bottom lobes of the lungs and got some heart.
The bow is a 50 lb Martin Hatfield. The arrow was a four fletched cedar with a WW head. It was a sweet day.
Ken,
I think you mean to say I shoot right and left equally bad :)
Bill,
I've seen some of your bowkills. You got a bunch of nice ones....
Nice deer John, congrats, and thanks for the story.
