Title: An early birthday present
Post by: Ron LaClair on March 23, 2008, 12:26:00 AM
Last weekend Nancy (Redbird) and I were down in Tennessee for the TTAS Spring banquet. Jim Bowmans mother-in-law did a painting of my beloved Shrew Haven hunting cabin. Jim gave it to me at the banquet and it blew me away. She did the painting from a photograph and she really captured the serene beauty of the place. It feels like you can almost step right into the painting.

I just wanted to share this with all of you. I was going to put this on the birthday thread but decided to do it this way.

It was nice meeting you and Nancy last weekend Ron. I have seen pics of Shrew Haven on some of your previous post, looks like the kind of place most of us dream of. The painting was very well done. Happy Birthday.

I can see you like the painting but your body language and smile sends an even stronger message about your feelings towards your lovely spouse. May you and Nancy have many more birthdays together and Good Hunting!

Herb, it's never too late to discover your talants. Jims mother-in-law is 84 and she didn't start painting until she was 81 or 82. I find that simply amazing   ...   :clapper:

Ron helped to make the first Tennessee Traditional Archery Society (TTAS) banquet a success.  The members of TTAS were honored with his presence and stories. That Jim Bowman headed up such a wonderful gift for Ron is icing on the cake.
Ron, thanks for sharing your many talents.

Very beautiful Ron.  So is it going up in the camp or at home to remind you of the camp when your not there?

Right now it hangs on the wall above my desk. It will go to camp this fall so the guys can sign it on the back, then come back home again.
