Title: Last Beman Carbon Arrow question, I hope? Fletching?
Post by: Bucksnort101 on March 22, 2008, 10:03:00 PM
OK got the Beman MFX 500 shafts, 100 grain Brass inserts, and couple sets of Onestringers Caps on the way. Now I need to think about feathers.
Wondering what others have been fletching thier Beman MFX arrows with. Want to reduce drag so I am thinking of using 3 4" shield feathers. Anyone else use this setup with any luck. Or would four 4" feathers work better.
Ultimately I would like to be shooting about  500-550 grain arrows with some large 2 blade broadheads so they need to be able to handle that type of setup.

3 4 inch parabolic feathers work fine for me for field points but I don't know about broadheads.

4" parabolic will work fine for any broadhead and shoots a little quieter than sheilds.I use them to shoot the big treesharks with.

If your bare shaft was good, then 3 4" should be fine.
