Title: GN Critter Gitter and Ghost
Post by: bowbert on February 10, 2007, 08:02:00 AM
I've got a GN Ghost.  Have shot the Critter Gitter, but wondered what the performance difference is.  I love the ghost, and it throws the arrow nicely.  Wonder how much of a drop I should see with the moderate r/d design of the CG.  If you know, chime in...thanks.

Bret I have several GN bows and my experience is if I have Ghost and a Critter Gitter of the same weight the Ghost will shoot an arrow 5# higher in spine. The Fireball shoots nearly the same as the Ghost. I hope this helps.

Thanks Jack.  How do you like the Critter Gitter?  I love my ghost but would like to get a Critter Gitter.

I like the Critter Gitter but I won a Super Ghost at the PBS banquet in San Antonio and have been shooting it and Ghosts for the last 3 or 4 years. I am basicly a longbow guy and the Fireball gives me the best of both worlds.

That Jack Denbow....he wins everything.....

...but you should listen to him when it comes to GN bows....and he makes one heck of an arrow too.....

I've shot both for a long time.  Don't know if I understand what Jack said.  If he is saying that the Ghost will shoot like a 5# heavier bow, I would come close to agreeing.  It may not be 5#, but it is noticeable.  On the other hand, I've always found the Critter Gitter a bit more stable.  If I had to make a choice, and luckily I don't, I'd probably shoot the Critter Gitter, even though it is a few fps slower, all other things equal.  It may be that I'm just biased toward longbows.  They're both good bows.

I have to be more careful with my release shooting the ghost than the critter. If I am a little sloopy, arrows go everywhere whereas the critter gitter is more forgiving. Shooting heavier bows helps me with my release. The ghost really spits out an arrow and its performance is very high. I agree with other comments posted that there is about 5 lbs performance difference between the bows. I am currently looking to buy a fireball to compare with.

The Critter Gitter is more stable and forgiving than the Ghost.  The Ghost is faster.  You just have to pick your poison.  Personally, I shoot the Critter Gitter alot more often than the Ghost.
