Here's a picture of a Myrtle riser and two veneers.
Which veneer should I go with?

Dark veneer.
Even tho the riser is similar to the light veneers as far as light and dark.....I don’t think the tones go well together.
-
+1 Dark
-
Dark for sure.
-
Okay, dark it is. Thanks for the help.
-
Dark for sure, of course I love dark woods.
-
Yup, the dark one.
-
When dark woods take on glue they some times become so dark that you lose the looks of all the figure under the clear glass and they show up every flaw in the glass such as streaking and flecking.
-
Tim, I'm hoping for the best on that score.
This bow will be a test of the Bearpaw clear glass.
-
Dark veneers for sure. Also, let me know what you think of the Bearpaw glass. I've been wanting to try it, but reviews haven't been exactly stellar.
-
I will do that
-
I will do that
Thank you sir!

Lighter colored veneers for back and darker on belly side.. I am gonna build a few ILF limbs with brown or Carmel belly glass and pretty veneers under back glass...
-
The light one will be about two shades darker under glass and glue. wet it to get an idea.
-
Crooked is right wet it for a quick idea then go with the dark :goldtooth:
