About a month ago I had the pleasure of talking to up and coming bowyer Jim Gainey of BlackCreek longbows while visiting with John Sullens of Sipsey River Traditional Archery. Well Jim just happened to have a lefthanded bow for me to try and I was impressed with both the perfomance and the workmanship. So I ordered one, a 58 inch Banshee longbow, 42 lbs@28. It has a cocobolo riser with an osage radial cut with osage limb veneers and black glass and cocobolo tip overlays. I picked it up today and well....I will let the pictures tell the rest

Hey Scott, I knew you would like it. I was at Johns when you picked it up last night.
Lonnie
Lonnie it was nice meeting and talking to you last night. That little bow you got will sure 'nuff spit an arrow out. I know someone who is just about to order a Banshee (john1271) and I will ride up with him when he picks it up. Maybe we'll be able to shoot the bull and the bows.
hey scott, glad you like it. its one of the purtiest ones with osage that ive built. enjoy.

Hey, I will be 60 in a couple of weeks!
I just got a little Banshee of my own two weeks ago at our state shoot, blew out my elbow and couldn't pull my regular bows. Saw a pretty little forty pounder in Sipsey River tent and Jim let me try it---sold ! I'm still rehabbing the elbow so haven't got many arrows out of it yet but it shoots sweet and I've let several of my customers here in the store try it and they were just as impressed as I was. As was said above, lot of bow for the money, but don't wait too long---as more folks find out about them demand will get to the point that they'll have to start charging more in line with what the bows are worth, my understanding is that these prices are "introductory" specials, getting the bows out there so folks can see how good they are
Joel, I agree with you. As the word gets out about Jims bows the wait will be a little longer, but right now, at this price and such a short waiting period (3 weeks for me) You can't beat it. He built the bow to my specs and hit the weight dead nuts on. I have owned bows that cost twice what I paid for my Banshee but, did not get twice the bow in looks/fit/finish or performance. I am more than happy with my Banshee.
I'll bet it won't be much longer before Jim gets real busy making these bows. It's already hard to get him to leave the shop to go shoot. :archer:
nope it wont be long!!!! :archer:
