Post by: stringstretcher on March 20, 2008, 08:11:00 PM
Any one willing to share how they do their forshafts on cane/bamboo arrows?  I would love to hear from anyone that does this

I use a hardwood same diameter as cane or purple heart or paduka for looks..paduka isn't a good foreshaft but it works...I just sand the foreshaft down to a perfect dowel and get it inside cane..insert into cane, blunt end of foreshaft so as not to split cane upon impact make sure your foreshaft bottoms out on a node...build up the foreshaft with sinew real stuff not artificial...to same diameter as cane...I leave a point on end of foreshaft so I can spin it to get perfect alignment with cane....then just add point.w w w . gutstuff .com you can view some cane arrows with foreshafts and points...good luck...gut
