Title: get twist out
Post by: earnestsix on April 09, 2018, 11:16:47 AM
I have a piece of Osage that's been giving me fits, bottom limb took good to steam, but top half has been heck. Steamed it three times already now its too dry. Should I soak for few weeks then try again? thanks

Not sure but does dry heat work in that case.

I guess dry heat works as well as steam, but I've never used dry heat so I guess I'll try dry after it soaks for a while.

If you're trying to get that dog leg out I'd steam it. You can shellac the stave first to help keep the moisture out. Shellac can handle the heat and moisture.

You posted a thumbnail picture, which is fine.

After you select your picture from your PC or phone, just to the right of the little window where the picture name appears, click ( Insert Attachment 1 ). That will make the picture full size in your post.
