Title: sinew cloth

I thought of a weird idea and I'm wondering if its worth persuing...

If I took dry processed sinew threads and wove them into 6 ft of cloth, then I could lay that over wax paper at the base of a flat rectangular mold.  Then if I pour hot hide glue into the mold, or brush on just enough to bind the sinew cloth,....  and maybe repeated the process with a few stacked layers of this sinew cloth.  After its had time to set... Weeks or months maybe? I would have something similar to a carbon fiber, only natural, but strong! And by laying the fibers in specific directions maybe I can make it stronger lengthwise, or diagonal to prevent the bow twisting...  If I made one big sheet, I could end up with enough of this material to back dozens of bows. 
You guys think this could work? Or is it a huge waste of time? Lets put it this way: would anyone want to buy a bow sized strip of this material?

Interesting idea, only problem I see is turning the sinew in any direction other than length wise defeats the purpose.
In other words its beneficial characteristics are best utilized when run lengthwise. Kinda like the grain in bamboo.
Carbons fibers and others are woven to make them stronger because they don't have the natural properties of sinew.
 Plus that would be expensive to make, not very cost effective.

John is right...  Just keep the fibers oriented length wise... You will lose much stiffness and performance if you weave them...

I wouldn't try that.  You won't get the performance out of it like you would a normal sinew backing.  It would be similar to a rawhide backing but probably heavier.  You would get protection from lifting splinters but lose performance.

Interesting idea, but I can not image trying to weave a bunch of sinew threads together.  I would not have the patience!  The stuff I process is curly and likes to stick with other strands.  I doesn't lay together well until rehydrated.  But heck - give it a try and see how it works.

Better idea might be to use back sinew and layer it up.  Might have to kill a bunch of deer to get enough :)
