Title: Good day on the water

Finally got a break from work and the shop so I took a day for myself and did a little bow fishing!!
Weather was great and I had some success.

A lot like prairie dogs.
Most of them get discarded to feed the coons, coyotes, or what ever..
they are considered a trash fish, however...
we do clean the occasional big female needle nose.
Almost always clean any alligator gar.
I’d dare say 90% get thrown out.
The trick to frying gar (they only way I’ve done them) is make sure your grease is hot and eat immediately out of the fryer. If they cool down you can bounce them like a rubber ball! Seriously!!
