My new bow arrived, but, Mr. nor Mrs. Assenheimer knew what type of wood was in the limbs. I was wondering if any of you guys could help me out? First time posting pic's, hope this works.

Fiddleback Maple?? Whatever that is. I like it.
Nice bow! ;)
Is it Tamo Ash?
sweet !!!
Sapele or quilted bubinga would be my guess.
looks like quilted maple hit with a stain
Quilted Sapele looks a lot like it. I don't know though, it is just pretty wood.
I'd go along with the quilted maple. Beautiful bow! Let us know how she shoots. :notworthy:
My guess would be Quilted Maple...
Looks good to me.
I think it looks like quilted maple. Darn good looking, BTW...
Looks like version of waterfall bubinga ...marco#78
I'd say Quilted Maple, stained. Very Sharp!! How about some pics of the riser? Congrats!
I talked to Don at the OBA banquet about these veneers. He had donated a bow with the same limbs (not sure if it was the same bow as this though). If I am not mistaken, he and Shirley said there was NO stain on this stuff.
The story, as I understand it, is that someone gave him the veneers and that person didnt know what it was either.
I have to go with some kind of Sepale wood. I have two bows with quilted maple veneers and they dont really look like this at all.

Awesome, what ever wood it is.
Brian, Those limbs that were in the auction were suppose to be mine but they were to light in draw weight, That is what Shirley told me. But, this is a different bow than the one that was at the banquet. I will put some pictures up of the riser here in a few. Thanks for the responses!

I had to sand down the knobs to make them fit over quick release quiver still need to stain the knobs though.
My father was the one who bought the bow at the OBA banquet. It is one of the most unique bows I have ever seen. I'll try get get some pics of it and post also.
I had a similar veneer, that was Quilted maple, absolutely stunning...
Mike, Im sure your father will love shooting it as much as I do mine.
Sorry it took so long, but I finally got pics of the bow mentioned above.
My dad bought it at the OBA banquet.
