Well, we've seen bow & arrow technology improve beyond all imagination, since they were first conceived. Broadhead & fletch technology is improving day by day, but what about the humble pack-frame? Getting a large animal out of, or a large amount of kit into, the back country has always been a slog.......until tommorrow perhaps?
Pack-horse replacement.......? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1czBcnX1Ww)
I sat in open-mouthed, slack-jawed awe watching this.
Absolutely amazing!
strap a 3d target to it and then we'll have something
Three words. O-M-G!
Can't exactly sneak up on elk with the portable one though. :biglaugh:
Wow It really looks alive.Kip
Amazing! Now they just need to make one that has a stealth mode and I think they will be in business.
What :scared:
that is incredible!!
and at 2.7 million a copy, you could own a full packstring of horses, hire a wrangler full time, feed and vet them, and still have 2.4 million in the bank!!!
I see Defense Department written all over that thing.
Thats pretty impressive when he kicks it and it keeps its balance. And doesnt completely bust it on the ice!
It's 2 guys with really skinny legs in a robot suit. They had to justify all that funding somehow. The 2 project leaders made billions!
I'm putting in my request for funding. I need 2 people with amazingly strong but insect thin legs. Double jointed hips wouldn't hurt either.
A very loud recording of a bee is also required. I can get the speakers and an mp3 player.
I can see it now.....Real Tree camo with Bill Jordan perched on top.
You got it BR. Will no doubt be put to military use first, but a new toy for the four-wheeler afficianados.
WOW! That is amazing! :scared:
what an annoying noise! What next???
wow.. wonder when they will come up with a remote controlled bowhunter? then we wont even have to go to the effort to go to the woods!! hopefully the price quote Ray said will stop this nonsense..
You would think that a muffler wouldn't be that hard to engineer for that beast. Quite amazing though!
that thing is creepy.
scares the hell outta me :)
Wow that is amazing, quite a bit nosier than my mule tho.
Oberon
Wow, I even felt sorry for the stupid beast when it got kicked.
"I sat in open-mouthed, slack-jawed awe watching this."
Me too, eyes the size of horse apples!
If I saw one in the woods, I would have to go the SSS route. Spooky. Bad mojo! Debbil Dawg!
Killdeer :scared:

You'd be amazed how many people who've seen the clip say this. The Wife's first reaction was 'Aaaaw. Poor thing.'
...me too. :( I would have sympathized with it more if it had fallen on one of its butts on the ice though, like I do.
I only have one butt, for the record. :readit:
K~ :D
the movie Terminator comes to mine
Technologically amazing!!! Though, I noticed "The Creator's" touch in design and reaction. Almost like someone tried to copy a dog. Still, it was something to see.
My thoughts on military applications were to medivac serious casualities from the front lines. They'll probably use it to carry the explosives to the front lines through. :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

Now fat lazy people can go for a hike too.......course they still have to chase the thing up the hills.
I think I would still rather have a horse or lama.
Stayig with the StarWars theme you couldn't cut it open to save yourself from freezing either could you :saywhat:
If I'd seen that thing in the wild at night!!! Looks like a spider, sings like a bee.
I'd a thought for sure they landed.
Absolutly incredible and yes I agree it's a little scary as well.
Thats plain Scary!
Ya Reckon a well placed grizzly could take it out? :archer:

Kool real Kool but at 2.7 mill it better be bullet proof! First one out in woods gonna get shot by some yahoo with a 300 Ultra Mag. Wonder how many shots it will take to drop it?
that thing is gross!!
:scared:
yeah, but will it retrieve???
I went back and watched it again tonight. I could use that lil buger where I'm at. Do you think the price might come down to where we could afford "it"?
Just remember - when the fuel or batteries are exhausted, somebody has to carry out all that junk if they stray too far from a gas pump or a source of electricity.
It is a great design for looking for ice deposits on Mars though.
I don't understand. Why wouldn't someone get a real horse that cost less, and is possibly more "enviromental friendly".
