A very beautyfull bow with a nice data sheet

Nice D-tiller profile. Outer part of upper limb would have been bending more if I had to tiller it, but I can see the problem. Have currently a Yew ELB in the works which also has such a 'kink' in one limb.
The main problem for me is the value of the Yew itself. Our native is fully protected and almost not to get. Every single piece of my stock therefor has to become a bow - with No margin for error. If you intentionally tillered this way I would be interested in the 'idea' behind it and maybe copy it to my stave ...

edit:
Had a closer look at the sideview of the unstrung bow and I think I found it   ;)   Missed the nice reflex outside the 'kink'. Perfect job!  :notworthy:

Manny, simply beautiful. Hard to believe, but you continue to make quantum jumps in your bowyer skill. To bend through that fork on the upper limb is difficult to see much less accomplish. It hurts my mind to try to immagine an arc through that limb while ignoring the kink, but I have an intuitive feeling that it is there. You may soon fall right over the top into pure art. Then again, how does it shoot?

Now that's what a selfbow should look like.  I love them sappling bows!

Very nice work.

thanks guys  :bigsmyl:

Yeah trying to tiller that upper limb to match wasn't easy,...can't even tell if I did  :D    :D

Not just the kink, but the reflex from the kink to the tip, it makes it a all new bow on that section.

Frank, if the wood can take it and doesn't take set I like to make them a bit more circular tillered, since I've being making the outher limbs/tips really narrow this seems to work great, going into next question....

Shaun, I've being shooting it in with 800gr arrows, and she likes them a lot, I will probably make arrows in the 750gr range for hunting with this bow.

Nice work Manny.
I love your workshop. Do you have to dry your bows to lower the moisture content in Hawaii?
