Post by: herb haines on March 16, 2008, 03:03:00 PM
i am always looking for new sources of products and have been wondering about AGM feathers .full length is what i an interested in .

how do they compare  to gateway and trueflight in quill thickness and quality of grinding .

Gateways have a lot wider front on the quill that is wastefull when you are cutting are AGM like this ?

any other info would be helpfull --- herb

All of the full length amg's that I have had have had quills that are very similar to Trueflights.  Much better that Gateways.  Good width, thickness and consistence from feather to feather.  They have some nice vibrant colors too that trueflight doesn't offer. dino

Herb, the AMG's I've gotten from Joe were as good, if not better than any of the other feathers I've tried. Price is definately better than the "big two."

Unless I got a bad batch, I did not care for the full length.  The colors are great, but the grinding of the quills was bad when compared to trueflights.  I had to do a lot of sorting to find the good the good feahters. I have never had to do that with any of trueflights.  I think they can do a better job on the over all quality.

My shop switched from trufligt to AMG as our  principle feather. They're base is consistent and the grind is precise. The colors are brilliant. My only wish is that they develope a faux barred feather. Great feather.

Herb I like them they are cheaper and a little lower profile than trueflights. I see that as a good thing  since they don't contact your riser as much if at all.
