Okay...Okay...so I couldn't wait to prove you young snots wrong 8^). That Green boy sent me this arrow...overnight no less...so I could try it out of my bow. Try to convince the old man that a carbon arrow will fly out of his bow...tsk...tsk. :saywhat:
At this point I know I must be doing something wrong. I looked at the arrow again...it said Arrow Dynamics...ca...ca...carbon. So...I back up to forty yards...now we'll see this thing turn sideways for sure.
At forty yards, that filthy arrow flew flawlessly to the target just a bit low of center. Now I started wondering how Terry Green made this aluminum look like a carbon. Perhaps it's witchcraft of some sort. So....
I walk back to my driveway...fifty-two yards. Pull back the arrow to anchor and watch it fly flawlessly to the target. :bigsmyl:
An open mind is the first step to education.
thanks, George... that was a smiler. If you've been keeping up with me, you know I've been messing with new stuff, too. Yep, the dreaded C arrows and even, dare I say it, one of those new fangled bows with bent ends. Seems I suddenly realized That us vintage archers shouldn't let the kids have all the fun.
George, arn't you glad you talked Terry into sending you a carbon arrow lol. That will teach him not to question your knowledge.
You know what this means don't you, buy more arrows lol. Good for you.
Alan
:readit: Best Carbon Made! They will amaze ya George!
Good on you Terry...and good on you George for giving it a shot!
:clapper:
Ahem... George...I can use some of them peksy aluminum, ready-to-bend on anything arras for Whttingham cause I lose a lot in the swamps...
Email me for a shipping addy!
You are the master of words, amigo...
Welcome to the 21st century... now go burn that bow! :bigsmyl:  :banghead:  :D
But......do they smellll like cedar if'n you break one? ;)
Luvin it. :clapper:
George, are you sure that one arrow isn't a fluke. You better ask Terry for the other eleven to see if he just picked the one good one. Don't fall for the old bait-and-switch.
George, your either adapting or evolving.Theyre both much different than being conquered. If you store them in a cedar closet theyll get that pleasant aroma.Nah, probably not.LOL
Bad news George; I shouldn't have done it; but the night before you shot that arrow; I snuck over to your place- and moved your target a foot to the right.
:biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
:scared: :biglaugh:
Krebs.....you are despicable :saywhat:
priceless....thanks George....
George, don't believe that "moved the target" story of Brian's. That's just a smoke screen to cover his real heinous act.
Hold that arrow real, real close to your ear, and listen carefully. Can you hear the hum of the tiny microprocessors of the smart guidance system that locks onto the laser emitting diode Brian snuck into your target?

TGMM Family of the Bow
Too Funny George...but just as I suspected. ;)
Very happy for you George...I hope you and carbon have a long and beautiful relationship with each other. :D
the diode is on the side of his truck; if he just shoots from far enough away.....
Great! As if rivercane ain't scarce enough here in Iowa, now I gotta find one o' them pesky carbon trees. :knothead: Now whadya s'pose those leaves look like!

Sounds like you're finally convinced, George!
That Green fellas no good, you're right, just plain evil
Good stuff George!
Cool. I myself have, on occasion, been accused of being an unfashionable retrogrouch. :thumbsup: However, when it comes to arrow shafting, I've continually evolved with the very latest in cutting edge technology;
In my early naive days of trad archery I started off with POC. I was soon convinced by some techno-types that the consistencty of aluminum makes it the king of shaft materials. I was in the aluminum phase for about a year or so until someone introduced me to that wonder material known as carbon fiber. I had been shooting carbon fiber for a few years until, at about this time last year, someone suggested I try something different.
This happened at my first ever competitive 3D shoot and a friend slipped me a 1/2 dozen finished arrows and told me that I needed to use them if I wanted to shoot in the longbow category. I took a few practice shots with these arrows and was blown away by how nicely and quietly they flew. It was as though I had been reintroduced to an old friend that I'd turned my back on years ago. Luckily for me, POC is extremely forgiving, and we've had a great relationship over the past year. However I do see a potential homewrecking third wheel on the horizon who goes by the name Douglas Fir, and hails from the surewood forest. I'm beginning to worry that I'm a 4, maybe 5 timing arrow shafting floozy! Particularly with regard to this Douglas thing - wouldn't this go against nature? I'm sure SloBowinMO would approve, but what about the rest of the trad community?
:goldtooth:
flatbow, I have all kinds of arrows in my cache.
Right now I'm fletching up more cedars (my first love). I think there's room for all of them since I will probably need mass quantities ( I recently became semi-employed 8^)). The biggest problem is I won't just stick with one style, so I need to build some arrow boxes.
I was impressed though with how the Arrow Dynamics arrow flew with no fussing.
And guesss what George! They are all exactly the same! Wet dry hot cold been layed on rained on It dont matter! If it aint broke it aint bent.
