Title: Carbon Extremes for an ACS-CX?
Post by: Mojo Rising on March 13, 2008, 08:55:00 PM
I was wondering what carbons ACS owners are shooting out of their bows as a starting point for tuning. The bow specs are 54# @ 28" with my draw. I am leaning towards the CE Heritage shafts with 225 grains up front, any suggestions?

Heritage 250's should work great for you.

I shoot a A&H #54 @28 I pull about 27 1/2 so around 52-53 lbs I shoot GT XT 3555 29" long with 240 grs. up front they are fleched 3 5" vanes, I get around 190 ftps.

I have found the 29" goldtip 55/75's with 175 up front to work well for my 50# ACS.

Thanks that really helps! I'm gonna try right wing fletch and have heard that some have found that it contacts the hand when shooting, are any of you using RH and found this to be true?

Just to confuse the issue, Axis 400's with 200 up front fly like darts out of my ACS...

Your setup is very close to mine. My specs are 53 lbs at 28" 62" ACS CX. I shoot Heritage 150's with 20 grains added up front and 145 grain field points - 29" long. 3 5" Right Wing Helical fletching - Fly perfect for me. Hope that helps!
