Title: early ak breakup.....early pws black bears just maybe??????
Post by: jrchambers on March 12, 2008, 05:49:00 PM
its pretty warm on the kenai peninsula. little spits of snow but it is melting faster than it can fall,  the clear days are even melting it off.  Im thinking there might be some greenery on the beaches in the sound a little sooner than usual, it is quite upseting when you go out there and everything is still brown with no black spots milling around the beaches and slides.
what do you other ak ers think,  is it just to early to be hoping?

A little too early to be hoping here although I suspect we should have a good black bear season.  Still snowing a little but mostly melting here in Juneau.  We'll have black furries on our beaches before long.  Started getting the boat ready for another season this past weekend.  Hopefully, we'll get to salt a couple of hides on the back deck in May.

im headed to the north west end of pws may 14 this could be a little early for the northern part but it the weather pattern for the last 10 years stays true along with this little early shot of melt off it should be perfect.
