 Classic view of someone who hasn't hunted the south. Baiting is very much still hunting. You still have to scout an area. You still have to select a stand site. You still have to put in your hours in a stand. You still have to make it all come together when you see something. All baiting does is increase your odds of seeing game. Sorry if i ruffled your feathers. Just putting in my .02
GG, congats on the nice piggies!!!
regards
Kyle
congrats on two fine eaten pigs
Cool....I will be hunting P I G hogs last of april I cannot wait!!!!!My new German Kinetics are sharpy sharp ready to go!!! Marco#78
Nice little piggies... That's great... was the hunt on state land?
Dave2old, Not to start anything, but don't you think what You said was a little overboard "Assuming you didn't use bait, of course, which isn't hunting but only baiting." I saw a Hawk hunt over my feeder in the back yard Today.... You going to tell me the Hawk wasn't hunting, That he was baiting???? If You use scents, sounds, decoys or Food... Your using bait.
That's the good eating kind
Congrats!!!!!
Congrats on some good eatin pigs! That looks like a ton of fun!
Looks like you have a really good reason for a bbq. No meat that I like better and i just ran out,I have a trip planned in 2 weeks and cant wait to resupply.
Congrats , well done :0)
Ditto on the baiting. Around here we got hogs, lots of 'em. They stay holed up in the thickest jungle you can imagine during daylight. We set feeders just far enough away from the jungles to try and see 'em right at dark. Make a good hit and they don't make it back in the mess they came out of, marginal shot you are on your hands and knees crawling thru briars and swamps. Shoot a couple off a feeder and it's shot for daylight hunting for a couple weeks.
Nice!! Well done and pics to boot.
:clapper: Nice pigs and an awesome bow.
Good shooting Gray.WE gonna be camping in a few weeks you should come go with us.RC
Great shots,,looks like some good eating,,J
Congrats GG.Hope to go one day myself.
Gary, How long were the shots? Looks like perfect shot placement! Nice "560"
Work Work Work; I'll be glad when these 7/12's are over they are killing my spare time be glad toget back on 40 hrs. a wk. So i can post i'm going chasing SOMTHING ANYTHING. Congrats GG nice pigglets
I have a 560 Hunter that I shoot Magnus I out of as well with a 125 grain steel insert. How many pounds are you shooting with your set up and what weight are the arrows. Fine shooting and great pictures
do i smell bacon??
I cannot buy enough corn....the pigs on my little place love it. Congrats on the pigs....
Nice piggies! Dave I thought the same thing till I hunted Texas. Its just too darn thick not to use bait. 10 yards in Texas is 50 yards anywhere else.
Nice shootin!!!!! Congrats!
Nice pigs !! congratulations ! I would'nt worry too much about dave2old's corn comments if you look at his profile it's David Peterson, he seldom has anything positive to say so don't let it rain on your hunt, you did well !
mmmmmmmmmmmm i can smell them cooking from here. :biglaugh: well done
Great stuff! Congrats! ;) :clapper:
The shots were about 15 yards and my arrows weigh 535 grains. Let me know when and where you will be camping RC, and I'll try to make it.
I`m kinda dense but I did`nt see where Gray said anything about bait. Regardless good shots and good eating size pigs.
We ain`t decided yet on where.Depends on the river stage. But it will be between Horsecreek,Ocmulgee or Altamaha.RC
Congrats!
I think I missed some thing along the way on this thread. Any way, Nice job on the pigs. Wish I had some of those to cook up.
Gray, I am heading down to the Ocmulgee today - I would hunt with RC but he never asks me...lol. Where are you hunting down there.
As for baiting - if it is legal (which it is for hogs with in GA) I have nothing against it, but it certainly is NOT necessary to kill hogs in the south unless something is wrong with a man's legs.

Matt, you think you could bait for me...I seem to have pulled a leg muscle draggin a hog out of the swamp
Nice hogs there Gray, bet they'll smoke up moist and tender.
I'm hunting on private land in Coffee County. I plan to hunt management areas during turkey season. Hope to see ya'll there.
Sure, Joe, there is just one problem. If your leg is broke who is gonna drag our hogs. We have to find someone young & healthy to go with us.
