Title: Gotta question
Post by: Barney on March 11, 2008, 02:03:00 PM
If I have a #60 takedown with a 17" riser and put the limbs on a 15" riser, will it still draw #60?

Thanks.

I know on my Black Douglas going from 19inch to the ultra 15 my draw weight goes up 3#. I have 65# limbs but the draw 68# My guess would be the angle of the limb pockets?
Might be different with your bow.

So a shorter riser will raise the weight?

Makes sense to me.  A shorter riser will make the limbs work harder given the same length of draw.

Weight will go up.

Depends on is the limb pocket angle is the same or not. Most cases you gain a couple pounds every inch shorter the riser is. The A&H risers only go 1/2 pound an inch because of other design changes.
