My new baby and first traditional bow. I think she's a beauty. Just arrived at my doorstep...haven't had a chance to shoot her yet. A report to follow....thanks to all the tradgang members for your help and suggestions thus far. I am sure I'll be counting on you for for advice as I get into it.

Great looking bow. Love those arrows inlays!
Glad to see JD's getting back to making a longbow grip an actual longbow grip. Very nice!
Sweet bow!! Yes I like that grip also...Hows it shoot?
Nice bow!
very very nice
Just went out and shot my first traditional arrows. My elevation was fine, seems like I was consistently shooting about 9 to 11 inches left of center. The bow is whisper quiet. I'd say 46 lbs. is good for a beginner.
46 lbs. O.K. but you shouldn't shoot that bow until I have thoroughly checked it out for you! :biglaugh:
Those arrows might be too stiff. Did you play with the different point weights?
Killdeer
Kill is right, I have a JD Berry and it likes under spined arrows.
Didn't have a chance to try different point weights...got dark on me. I'll play around with them tomorrow. More likely I just don't know what I am doing than a problem with the arrows I am guessing...these were my first shots out of any traditional gear. :saywhat:
BTW: aren't 1916's at the bottom of the spine chart? If I went to a 150 gr. point, that would soften the spine, correct? I measured and I need a shaft length of 26 3/4"...that would leave an inch over that front edge at full draw.
Oops..noticed I can go to an 1816 if necessary. Sounds as if it might be.
That's a fine looking bow for sure!! Couldn't think of a better way to start off in Trad. Congrats and Enjoy !!
That is a real nice looking bow! I think I need one of them!
Very nice bow and theres a ways to go to hit the bottom of the spine chart. An 1816 would most likely work well for you.
Thanks, vermonster...I'll likey the give the 1816's a try. A 150 gr. head should weaken them up a bit too.

That bow sure is a beauty, with classic good looks.
Killdeer
Beautiful bow! If you get tired of it, let me know.
Nice bow! All the best with it!
