After the recent passing of my Dad I decided I'd keep the fire kindled. I decided to hunt with his bow to kinda keep him along on the hunts the way he'd been for so many years.
Moonlight makes the pigs move. I love hunting in the moonlight. It brings about a whole new dimention to hunting. The sounds and smells are so much more vivid in the moonlight. 5 yard shot, Dad's Horne Brushbow, wood arrow by Hormoan, old bear broadhead, Perfect heart shot. 15 yard recovery. Dad would be proudly taking pictures and videoing the whole thing if he was still here. It was a good night!

Thanks for sharing, I also lost my Dad this past year so I can kinda relate.
He did not bow hunt but I got his one and only hunting knife that he carried in the woods.

It's in our actions big and small that we remember and honour our forebears, such a fitting hunt and a way to remember your Dad. Good for you.

Congrats on your success. I fully understand. I used my fathers knife to skin out a hog I killed in Oklahoma on Dec. 26th, 2008. Felt like he was at my side throughout. I've decided to make that my go to knife from here on out. God bless you and your memories.
