Who uses filson rain gear or Filson wool for hunting
-
I wear Filson wool. Took it to Alaska last Sep and saw everything from 70 to 20 degrees with sleet blowing sideways at 30 mph. Worked great.
-
woody did you wear the camo hunting stuff, the sweaters or what??
-
I wear Filson wool, lots of it. I wear it just about everyday.Awesome stuff.
Filson raingear, not so good. Well made, great quality, but the whole oilskin thing is clammy as hell when it's wet out. Good stuff for small game hunting in the brush, pretty wind resistant, but lousy in the rain, IMHO.

I wear their wool pants. A+

Camo jacket and pants. Also had the gray pants -- lighter weight and could pass for street clothes. For comparison, I also have a KOM lined jacket (I think it's called the archer's model or something). FWIW, I chose to leave it home in favor of the Filson. Raingear was Helle Hansen Impertech. Worked very well, but I've not tried other brands -- several good ones out there.

The wool is the best out there.Like Roger said the oilskin isnt perfect for rain, but itll do in a light drizzle.

Exactly what Roger Norris said above. Great wool.
I do wear a Filson Tincloth, but it sees little hunting use and zero bowhunting use. It's more a favorite "knockabout" jacket.

Filson's quality is top notch, I have been out in all day rain with my Filson oiled coat & not gotten wet. It is a bit stiff, & wouldn't do for hunting. I wear their wool vest lots & it does go well for hunting. Frank
