Title: Clear glass thru riser?

When running clear glass thru a riser......
What color does it appear?
Grey?
Does light or dark material against it affect the color?

I sent a couple pics by text. One one pc with clear and red thru rosewood riser and my TD with clear between tamo ash veneer and the zebra riser.
