Anyone tried Oregon Myrtle (not Crepe Myrtle) for a self bow? How does it compare to say Maple?

The only thing I know about Myrtle is from a piece I got yesterday for a riser. It seems to me to be somewhat similar to maple but maybe not as dense?
Probably going to be all about grain orientation.
That's all I know!

Hard maple runs 1150-1400 Janka hardness, and Oregon Myrtle runs an average of 1250 Janka
