So I was looking on their site yesterday....I check it often enough.....and I notice they have a new model edge sander that I've never seen them offer before. Price point is low....$660 with the freight I believe? Does anyone have any hands on with this machine? If not, what's your take on it just by looking?
It's about 1/3 of the cost of the machine I've been planning to buy (which they just raised the price on).....but wonder about the quality. I'd much rather buy once cry once.....
If you haven't seen this new cost effective machine, give it a look and tell me what you think.........

This it? Doesn't look bad.

Looks like a good unit. Although if you want to rig up a profiler on it may not be the best.
-
You could do a lot with that, Mike has a good point too.
-
Yeah Roy that’s it........ not sure how that table would be. Almost looks flimsy.
-
I'm from the buy the best and only cry once school. You will have it forever. Hint :)
You could check craigslist for them. They pop up every now and then.
I have this one and have zero complaints.

The belt speed is 3072 FPM... That's pretty fast... I did not know you could go that fast with a belt sander... The other sander is 1800 fpm... I wonder if the fast speed will bog down easier... If so you could always change out a pulley...

God that is smoking for a belt sander.
Ole Kenny would get hurt wif that.. :)
-
That is a lot of belt speed. I could see stuff be slung across the shop if a guy was not careful. :scared:
-
Not sure that is right, looked in the specs and found this...
Sanding Belt Speed.....................2560 FPM
So not sure, I'd call tech support before I bought it.
-
Also see it is made in China instead of Taiwan. Good or bad?
-
Dont know that China and Taiwan made stuff is gonna be too much different. Labor probably cheaper in China.

I HAD this kind of sander. This is China/Taiwan stuff. It works for some things.
I did a lot of adjusting and pimping to get it to the right angle etc. I replaced the whole front plate (for the curvy stuff), it was not rigid enough. Also is the belt adjustment to swivel (rotate) the wheel where you do the curvy sanding. If you will keep a right angle to this, you have to be very careful.
I sold it after getting an old other but better sander.

about double the belt speed you will want--it will burn wood and glass
