Title: Adding limb tip overlay ?s
Post by: Longtoke on November 09, 2017, 03:24:00 PM
hey guys, I am revamping my old beloved bear minuteman and thought I would add some tip overlays in hopes of being able to use a FF string on it.

I am not sure what materials will work however, I have at my disposal some hardwood scrap and some antelope horn, I am not sure I can get a flat enough piece out of the horn but I thought It would be worth a shot.  I would prefer to use a few pieces of fiberglass but I don't have on hand and don't want to order a big sheet of it.

next question is what glue would be better, locktite 420, superglue gel, or epoxy?

I use super glue or epoxy. Buy some linen and make your own over lays.  Just dont add to much weight to the tips and you should be fine.

Think 1/8th of extra material would be enough?

What color are you thinking?  I might have some pieces around here somewhere.

Not particular on color, planning on doing a predator camo theme so black, white, grey, brown, etc. anything really.
