I have got a bunch of rough cut Sheoak riser wood in stock... The pieces are about 4-8" wide and just under 2" thick... I am wondering if it is ok to cut up a bit of it and true up two sides to have it ready and prepped to cut risers out of it... Or is it best to wait and cut up wood as needed... I am worried about wood moving on me after I true up the sides...
What are some of Y'all's general practice or views on this...

Is it dry?

Yes... I am in Florida and the humidity is high in the summer and go down to 50% or so in the winter...

As long as its dry and you keep it in a controlled environment it shouldn't be a problem.
