Title: finish compatibility
Post by: rockkiller on June 15, 2017, 07:55:00 AM
I have some gloss buffalo hide that I want to make a dull satin.
Big Jim doesn't show flat buffalo hide on his website ,so I was wondering if thunder bird could be mixed with it?
I think so ,but not sure.

Thank you for any info

I think it can. In fact, I think it's the same thing under a different name?

you can sand it with 400 and then use 0000steelwool. you may be able to stop there, or  3M Final Finishing pads
3-3/4" x 6 x 5/8 pads

It takes about a hour to sand, 15 min. steel wool, and 10 min to polish.

I did it one time with Buffalo hide gloss, because I wanted it smoother and more satin.
