Plenty of kinks and knots to make it harder. (http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/ah249/bigbob2/DSCN1198_zps1jlotwrw.jpg) (http://s1382.photobucket.com/user/bigbob2/media/DSCN1198_zps1jlotwrw.jpg.html)

really enjoyed making this one with more in progress! It has about 1'' of reflex which settles to around 1/2'' of string follow after a days shooting. Brace is a little low here as it only has a an old 'working' string on it yet (http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/ah249/bigbob2/DSCN1204_zpsmrsgy6xg.jpg) (http://s1382.photobucket.com/user/bigbob2/media/DSCN1204_zpsmrsgy6xg.jpg.html) .

Obligatory full draw shot with 'work for a dime' model! (http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/ah249/bigbob2/DSCN1206_zpsfaopmday.jpg) (http://s1382.photobucket.com/user/bigbob2/media/DSCN1206_zpsfaopmday.jpg.html)

Looks good Bob!!!
-
Excellent! Very well done.
-
Nice looking bow - great work!
-
thanks guys!. Was a bit nervous throwing it in front of all you wood guys! It really is satisfying working on all wood bows.I especially like chasing the ring down. This one had very thin rings toward one end so was difficult especially for my first osage bow.
-
I find chasing a ring on osage is easier than most other woods. The difference between the early and late wood is what makes it easier.IMO
You had a challenge working around those warts though and handled it like a pro.
Like I said...very well done!

Nice job
Start the next one

Nice Bow Bob, bow building is theurapeutic in many ways and Its only just begun!
-
Looks good. And nice barramundi on the tv, fried barramundi was my favorite meal in Katherine NT.
-
thanks again guys.Pat agree about the rings, marked difference between early and late.Bob W , after building glass bows for years, all wood bows really are relaxing in some ways, hair pulling in another .RJones, are you expat or spent some time over here? Quite observant to pick up the barra in background.

Went there a few times when I was in the military. Visited Townesville, Tindal/Katherine, and Darwin. Got well acquainted with Tooheys and XXXX Gold.
-
Not sure abut Tooheys, [southern beer] but xxxx is not a bad drop. Those places are all air bases mainly but Townsville is a garrison town.Hope you enjoyed your time here. If you went Barra fishing guess you must have!
-
Came out great! Very nice tiller. Jawge

Very good!

Nice bow Bob, warts and all. Is osage imported into the country or does it grow there?
Dave.
-
wood carver,Osage does grow here in a few places.apparently it was imported many years ago mainly as wind breaks by farmers. Some later day farmers never realised their value and dozed many into piles and burnt them! They grow in limited numbers about 4 hours away from me, but are very hard to get out of their location due to terrain
-
Very nice!

Thanks Mark, it is a sweet shooter too! Been using it at my local club and enjoy using it.
