the last picture is the opposite side.
So is it a tomato stake ,,fire poker , or worth finishing ? :dunno:

Never give up.
That is the belly side, Yes?
I think it may be good
Do enough where you can get it braced.
Good luck
-
It will likely hold together ok. You may as well finish it now and shoot it some.
-
Wow, that sucks. That's one of those one in a million things that seem to happen all the time. The bow making gods are testing your dedication to the craft.
I don't see why that wouldn't hold up, you have full coverage of glue in the gap, but I'm not a glass bow builder.
-
I round the corners off a little and wrap it about 1 1/2" with some cotton string saturated in epoxy... Do the same to the other side of the riser so it matches... It will also add to the looks of the bow...
-
Oh... Sorry... I should have read the post and just not look at the pics... I thought it was buckling...
I agree with the guys... She'll be fine...
-
Yeah, that should shoot fine, just will look bad forever lol.
That are of the riser is totally stiff so that little error is not under a lot of stress. It should be fine. I would expect it to live a totally normal bow life.
-
It doesn't look like it is in the working part of the limb and it looks glued up tight....should be fine.
-
At first glance I don't know that it will make a difference. In fact if there was plenty of glue on all the surfaces I bet it won't.
-
Something like that happened to one of my bamboo backed tri-lams. It's a 67# draw weight bow and it has hundreds of arrows through it.
It's not pretty enough to give away, but it works for me.
Dave.
-
Shouldn't bother, but I'd do a decorative wrap both ends of riser, just me tho...
-
I thought it would be ok ,but wasnt sure and wanted more experienced opinions.
This was going to be for my son in law ,but I will keep for myself and start on a new one for him.
I also want to thank you guys for always being so fast to help.

At the top of the picture is where I was looking.
You glue line is coming together at the working part? or close?
Go for it.
