Where do you guys get your boo flooring? I've found a few sources, I'm just convinced there must be better ones.
-
This is a good quality stuff. They have 1x8x6 ft. $30 a piece unfinished. The shipping may kill you though.

Lowes Has it
Vertical 36" long
I used a whole box and then went to Hard rock maple (rift sawn)
-
Try to get unfinished, I understand the finish will take the new off your bandsaw blade....
-
Yes Kenny it certainly will. don't try and plane it off either, it will ruin your planer blades. don't ask me how I know...
-
I get unfinished and ungrooved carbonized vertically compressed boo from Higuera. Its great quality. a 23 cubic foot box cost me 175 shipped and last for many many bows.
-
I saw bamboo deck boards ay menards. It is vertical orientation, about 6 inches wide, 1 inch thick and 12 ft long. Has anybody here tried it? I have not.
Only thing bugging me is that since it's 12 ft long, there are butt joints staggered throughout. Not sure if this would be a problem or not.

Theolitic71 not all bamboo is created the same nor is just any vertically compressed board as another. some boards where formed through heat and compression, usually the cheap stuff, and the better grades use heat compression and special binders.
If you are going through the trouble to make your own core lams and eventually a bow, then in my mind it would be prudent to make sure you have quality components from the start.

I never said I wasn't looking for good stuff. Thanks guys but Mike at rosewood has me setup with a structural vertical boo.

My post was not directed to you but in response to Theolitic. I apologize for the misunderstanding.
