Title: First Laminate Bow Build Advice...
Post by: BassBow on January 06, 2017, 04:41:00 PM
Greetings!

I am looking to resume bow building : ). I have made a few of the board bows(poorfolkbows.com). I think it is time to take it to the next level.

I'd like to make a wood laminate bow. I believe this is the next step, no? Perhaps a Hill style.
Osage and bamboo maybe? Thinkin' out loud.

There are so many build alongs in this site...truly amazing. If you could recommend one, for what I am interested in doing, which one would it be?

Thanks!!!

Hello.

Found myself in the same situation about 2 months ago.

I've made 9 bows, so far.

5 are shooters - 4 firewood.

Glued up my first attempt at a tri-lam earlier this evening.

Here's my first laminated bow..

Here's a 3D model I made for the one I glued up this evening, except I replaced the core lam with maple and thickened up the belly, as suggested by Mikekeswick.

Forgot to add...

There's lots of great folks in here who are happy to answer questions and share what they know.

I'm a relative nube, trying to share my recent bow making obsession ;-)
