Please DO NOT FLOOD MY BOX WITH PM"S.
Please read all the rules.
I will PM you with your info on your builder. You can discuss anything in this thread and ask any questions here in the open forum (just don't let the person know you are building for them). If you have any special concerns then send me a PM or email.
Shot me a PM with your mailing address and phone number so your bowyer knows where to send it.
signup will be closed at midnight January the 27th, 2016
READ ALL RULES!!!!!!!!!
Contact phone # is required! You can just send it to me privately and it will be added to the spread sheet and kept private.
Anyone that was asked not to ship on account of their recipient being late will not be on the list of shippers to hold
If you shipped late or are a new sign up your builder will be holding your bow until you ship and provide either me a tracking # and we OK your builder to ship. This is the only way we can keep someone from receiving and not sending.
We have had a few out of country entries in the past. I don't have an issue shipping out of country but if any of you do; send me a PM and I will take care of it. I shipped a bow to Turkey and Stiks has shipped overseas for around 45-50$ and figure it should be roughly the same for anywhere else. If you have an issue with it just send me a PM. It does cost a small fortune to ship to Africa, You can ship a TD to Africa for around 50 or 60 bucks.
DEADLINE
For new and late shippers will be Thursday, June 30th or before.
Our vets who shipped on time last year will be Sunday, July 31st
READ ALL RULES BEFORE SIGNING UP
#1 There will be a 30 day grace period after the final to be shipped date. Any bows not shipped by then and I will ask you to forward the bow you receive to your recipient. The only exceptions will be made by Myself and if you go past the grace I will ask your recipient if they will give you more time if they grant it then great if not you will forward your received bow or I will have your bowyer ship it to them if appropriate.
The only way we will make any exceptions to this rule is if you contact us and let us know what is going on. We do understand things happen and We are willing to work with anyone should an emergency arise, But YOU HAVE TO KEEP COMMUNICATION OPEN AND STAY IN TOUCH WITH us. No exceptions!
Okay here we go.
The way we'll do this to insure everybody gets a bow they can shoot is draw names. If you want in post here and at the end of sign up I will draw names and PM or email to the builder who your bow is going to and the specs desired.
#1 When you post that you are in also post your draw length and desired draw weight within a 5 or 10 pound range and right or left-handed. (Example.. 45-50 or 40-50) Also state whether you will be building a glass or wood bow, one piece or TD for the trade. I need to know this for shipping purposes out of country.
#2 When you post pics during the build DO NOT state in any fashion whom your bow is going to.
#3 I have given this a lot of thought and to keep it as honest as possible no one who has signed up to TradGang after the date of this post can’t enter. I hate to exclude anyone but have heard of it here in past trades that one guy or another did not get a return on his trade and I DO NOT want that to happen.
#4 The time frame for the build will be about 6 months and the bow you built should if any way possible be shot in. Bows need to finished and shipped by the date you are asked to ship them by
#5 There was a few concerns about liability so I will throw in that anyone who receives a bow in this trade is doing so at his/her own risk and in no way holds any one responsible in any way should a misfortune occur due to use of such bow.
#6 if you are building a glass bow and only want a glass bow in return or vice versa for wood bowyers please state this in the sign up, otherwise you may receive a glass or wood bow.
#7 Remember this swap is for novice and pros alike. If you get a bow you think it is a sub quality bow please give polite but constructive criticisms to the builder. That is part of the swap. Folks can't get better if they don't know it is wrong.
There we have it. I tried to keep it as simple as possible and keep everybody happy. So let the building and swapping commence.
Have fun! Kelly

Put me in.
Righthanded, 45-65# @ 29". Any type is fine.
I will build a glass or selfbow and ship wherever is needed.
-
I'm in..
I shoot a right hand. 45-50lb at 28"
I'll be building a glass R/D one piece and would be ok with any type/style of bow in return except for NO takedowns please!
-
I'am in
I shoot Left handed 30-35@28" I want a 1 piece glass bow
I will be making a glass bow 1 Piece
-
Im in again,
right hand, 40-45@28, prefer a glass bow but whatever.
I will be making a glass RD.
-
I'll put my name in too.
Left handed 40 - 50 @27#
Wood or glass no problem. I don't know what i'll be building yet, it could be glass, wood or a horn composite.
I'm in England so probably cheapest if somebody sends me a takedown but I would prefer not to get a 3 piece takedown (just not my style;)).
-
I'm in ! Had to take a break last year and it sure was hell to watch all those cool bows coming together and not beeing part of it.
I'm a right hand shooter, 45-55@27. I will build a glass bow and ship anywhere. I wouldn't mind a glass bow or a wood bow.

Unfortunately I'm out this year. Just got way to many irons in the fire!!! But I will be watching!
-
I've got my first baby coming in early March. I think I outta skip out this year but I will sure be watching
-
I'm in.
I'll be building either a glass td or a wood R/D, not sure yet.
I'll take anything that shoots, 40-45lbs preferably.
-
Congrats, Ewok.
Best start looking for some plans - 2# @ 7" or something like that!
-
+1 passion for knowledge
congrads Ewok...
since i have moved to capital city and i am not sure about creating about "man-cave" for myself to build a bow, i am still thinking about joining or not...
i still have time to decide... :D
i hope i can come up with some kind of answer for my cave...
best.
-
i'm in
Right handed 40-45(50)# @ 31"
have never done anything like this before but looking forward to it!
hope to build a selfbow or wooden laminated bow
Oh and i'm from Denmark
- Peter
-
I'm in! I love these trades and having an excuse to make a bow for someone that can give me a good critique.
Right hand, 45-55# at 27", but I'm happy with any weight from a fun little 30# to a 100# warbow.
I'll be making a wood bow. I'm not sure of the wood yet but I'll most likely use a persimmon or cherry stave.
I'll be happy recieving glass or wood.
I'll ship anywhere and will let the destination determine whether takedown or one piece.
Kyle

I'm in this year.
Right hand, 45-50# @ 27", prefer a glass recurve, I got too many wooden bows and longbows.
I'll make an osage selfbow, 60# or under at 28". I just can't shoot anything else in properly.
Prefer to ship US.
-
I'm in this year too. Have not done TG swap before - looking forward to it!
RH, 40-50# @ 28", prefer a glass bow.
I can make a glass or wood one-piece bow, whatever is needed.
-
Man I wanna get in on this. I've got some time to think about it.
-
I believe I'm in again this year. I'll take whatever kind of bow the bowyer wants to build that's right handed, around 45-50 lbs (a little below or above is fine too).
I will try to build an osage selfbow, but it's been a few years. If that fails (or if I fail making it) I'll resort to a glass bow. If my recipient has a preference, I can do either.
Thank you Kelly for heading this up again. You're a dedicated man to do this every year, and we all appreciate you!
-
come on folks
:)
-
ya. come on folks.lol
-
Can't make it again this year either. Wife's car has cost me $ 4500 in last couple months and have ongoing health issues to get around too.
-
Sorry to hear of your bad times, Bob. Hang tough.
-
Life throws you a curve ball every now and again.
Hope things sort out.
As for me, I don't feel confident enough yet to send someone one of mine.
Maybe 2018.
I think (hope?) I'm getting the hang of this bow making thing. Time will tell.
-
Im with passion for knowledge. I need more practice before I sign up.
-
ONLY 12 so far
This is my first year, so COME ON
:o
:)
:knothead:
:archer2:
-
David, Robert, you should jump in.
The idea behind the swap is to inspire bowyers to up their game. You both have done some very nice work and should not be reticent about getting involved.
-
I'm in. 45-50# @ 30". Prefer glass but wood alright also.
I will make a glass bow. Can make takedown if needed for overseas.
-
I agree with Monterey. Plus you have several months to get better :)
-
I'm in again this year. Right hand, 50-55# @27", I'll be making an all wood bow of some type. Wood or glass in return is fine.
-
No pressure!!??
Got me seriously thinking about it.
A week to decide........
-
David, I say go for it, what do you got to loose. If you get my name, I'd be proud to own one of your bows, as long as you give it your best. We all have to start somewhere.
-
I might jump in, especially since crittergetter isn't in. No way I would want one of his goofy looking glass take downs. His last bow made me dizzy just looking at it.. :) That guy prolly already sent it back to him..
 :archer2: :dunno: :nono:
-
I want one of roys!!! :D
-
LOL
I'll trade ya a bow for a bull moose hunt, at a 5 mile back in tiny moose camp.. LOL
-
Dan, if I do something, I always give it my best.
I just want to be sure my best is good enough.
-
Hey - we made it to page 3. Let's keep em coming. Only 1 week to sign up I believe.
-
Well I will sit this on out but it should be my last on out. I will be moving back to KS around the time the bows are shipping. I have an approved retirement from the military that is. So I have a lot to do between now and the end of June when my leave starts. 1 OCT I will be officially on the retirement rolls. SO I can track data but make bows right now is a stretch.
But I think a few more do need to join up.
And this is the place to challenge yourself. It is the reason this swap was started. There were some you had to prove your worth to. Here it is so you can get honest feed back to make better bows. so if you have a few shoot able bows under you belt or 1000 this is for you. The 1000 bow really help the few bow bowyer. It is amazing to see how much better you are when you are making it for the swaps.
-
Kelly sign me up i will be building a glass bow and for the bow that I receive I would like it between 50-55 lbs @ 27"
-
I was going to but decided to build one for my best friends wife. So no time to do a third. Have fun guys
-
Went to the only local place with multiple hardwoods in stock, figuring if I found something good, Id sign up. No hickory, no hard maple, no good grain walnut, and questionable quarter sawn red oak. No dice for me.
-
i have decided to join in this year again. but i do not have proper working shop atm since i have moved to capital city. but promise that i will do my best. (i have to build up some kind of shop anyway)
besides Turkey is in sloppy situation now, and nobody knows what will happen. there is a possiblty that i will not be able to receive any bow. if i sense such a thing i may require the bow shipped to my brother living in USA.
ok: i will be making glass bow (i do not think that i can make any other types in such conditions), recurve, 2 or 3 pieces.
i can have any bow RH. 50-60@28.
i hope this will be good and productive year for all of us in every situations.
-
I have been giving it a lot of thought and I have too much going on this year to be able to join in. I'm trying to get caught up on the work I'm committed to so that I can de-clutter the house and get it ready to sell in the hope that we find a new one this spring. Hopefully with a proper shop.
Dave.

Your 2 piece bikini? He nuts? :)
-
hm... i have already ordered black glass strips... FYI :D
-
OK, I'm in.
Got out with my last two bows which now have at least 200 arrows in them.
Didn't want to commit and let anyone down, so I wanted to have shot my last couple first.
I'll be making something all wood - ipe belly for sure - may involve maple, hickory, bamboo. Not sure yet. #45-50.
Hopefully the recipient will be happy.
As for me, anywhere between #40 and #60 right handed.
I'll be happy with anything that shoots!
-
Only a few more hours and 17 signed up.
-
The bow building bit has to be easier than what you've got to do, Kelly!
-

-
Kelly, I didn't sign up this year. To many obligations right now
-
Sorry Kelly, I'm not in this year either. Too much on my plate for the next few months.
Dave.
-
Kind of looks like last year's sign up ! Lol
-
OH BOY.. LOL
-
Does that mean talkingcabbage is making 2?!
-
I didn't sign up this year, way too busy to commit. Business way up and have to deal with a commercial property fire claim and remodel etc. I'll jump in next year, good luck all!
-
Looks like the list is longer than those that posted that they were in? Maybe looking at last years?
-
Let me join the chorus of those who are regrettably unable to join the swap this year, but find their name on Kelly's list.
I thought last year's list was longer though. Although both my recipient and my builder are on there. So who besides Kelly really knows?
-
I didn't sign up either this year. I have to many projects going on right now.
-
Sorry I copied the wrong List I will fix it. I just caught it before I logged on.
-
Ok I edited the post look now.
-
Was roy in or out? :readit: :dunno:
-
Noboody's perfeect - not even me!
-
I'm out Kelly.
-
we need one more
Come on Roy
-
Jueeze Roy. . . Part timer ;)
-
Wish I could get in but I just have way too much on my plate. Shop under construction, wife demands landscaping, up for promotion at work, and potentially another baby on the way although not sure yet. It just ain't in the cards for me.
Hell or high water I'm back in next year though.
-
Congrats on the baby and the promotion
-
Man if you aren't sure the baby's on the way you need to be doing a lot more practicing ;) .
Congrats that's awsome. Kids are the best.. I love being a dad.
-
Have we started Yet?
-
I think we're still waiting to find out who we're building for...
-
Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock......time is ticking away! :) :(
-
Just checking in to see what progress is made -- looks like Kelly might've gotten busy. Gives me time to rebuild a couple bow forms that are looking a little ragged.
-
Ok sorry not have a internet at the RV kill me getting this stuff out but I have drawn names and they are going out.
-
Also I need mwosborn, Mad Max, DonishArcer,
Passion for knowledge to shoot me your mailing address. I mean I guess I could send my address to your bowyer instead. :bigsmyl:
-
Mine is ready to ship.

-
That right limb doesn't seem to be bending very much!
That cracking sound is not one you want to hear very often.

Darn rebels. LOL
